We hope you enjoy the following Wolf Trek pictures....
not all of our Wolf Treks are pictured below, but we try to
give a sampling!
Cub Scout Pack 62 from Johnson City, TN
March 11, 2002, approximately 20 Cub Scouts and 10 of their Pack Leaders came to visit.
Sanctum assistant Chris Kirkland and his brother, Robbie, doubly insured no fingers went where they were
not supposed to (pictured in upper right hand corner). Everyone wanted their picture taken with the magnificent giant,
Renfield.
Deaton Elementary School, Spruce Pine, NC
April 16, 2002, The Wolf Trek Program went to Deaton Elementary School in Spruce Pine, NC to do a 4-H Program.
Teacher Carl Stearns, head of the 4-H class, also volunteers at The Sanctum. Sheba, Wleasel and V'Petti were a big hit.
Park Ranger Peter Margolin, who also helps at the Wolf Sanctuary, was of great assistance in the WT Program.

Montessori School, Spruce Pine, NC
The Wolf Trek Program went to
the Montessori School on April 19, 2002. Volunteer Assistant Peter Margolin kept V'Petti at a comfortable distance (he's
a bit shy) while Wleasel and Sheba socialbly wandered and interacted with the students . They were rewarded for their
friendliness with graham crackers. One of the things the Director (Liz) stresses is the importance of the predator in
a balanced eco-system, and preserving our wild areas so species can thrive. Peter is also a Park Ranger, so he is qualified
to speak about the importance of Park Systems and the wildlife inhabitants.
The Orchard at Altapass, Spruce Pine NC
The Wolf Trek program went to The Orchards at Altapass on June 2, 2001.

Asheville Howl-In
In December, we held a howl-in in Asheville to protest the aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska.
There was a pretty good turn-out, in spite of the cold weather. Please see our Friends of Wolves page for more information
on howl-ins and how you can help out.

Deerfield Retirement Community in Asheville
